About Mary Flavors
Mary Flavors is a DJ, producer, and musical storyteller whose journey began in Calgary’s vibrant nightclub scene in 1981.
Her love for music first took her behind the decks at The Banke nightclub in Calgary, where she began developing the instinct that would define her career: understanding the energy of a room and creating unforgettable moments through music.
In 1985, Mary brought that passion to the airwaves with her influential radio show “Up for Clubbing” on CJWS, which she co-hosted with Oliver, the visionary behind Calgary’s legendary Republik nightclub. Through radio and nightlife culture, Mary became known for discovering and sharing music that moved people — long before streaming, algorithms, and digital playlists transformed the way audiences experience sound.
Over the past four decades, Mary has performed at iconic Calgary venues, produced her own events, and created memorable musical experiences for cultural organizations, luxury brands, festivals, galleries, restaurants, and private celebrations.
Her journey has included performances with and for organizations such as The Calgary Opera, One Yellow Rabbit’s High Performance Rodeo, The Banff Centre, Alberta University of the Arts, Calgary Jazz Festival, Glenbow Museum, Art Gallery of Calgary, Audi, FFWD, Calgary Film Commission, Stikeman Elliott, RedPoint Media, and many others.
From underground club nights to elegant cultural events, Mary has always approached music with intention—curating thoughtful soundscapes that create connection and elevate every experience. Her evolving sound blends deep house, soulful grooves, disco, and global rhythms into a style that is both distinctive and timeless.
